MOSCOW, Aug 11 (PRIME) – The Russian government should prolong direct subsidies to small and medium business to keep jobs, business ombudsman Boris Titov said in a letter to President Vladimir Putin and seen by PRIME on Tuesday.
He said that no federal support measures are envisaged for businesses that suspended activities in June and July, while many regions prolonged the restrictions on some companies for the months. Operations of about 350,000 small businesses was suspended in June and of about 188,000 in July.
Prolongation of the measure would help 1.2 million people and would require 22 billion rubles from the budget. "The aforementioned would favor positive dynamics of recovery of small and medium business in the Russian economy," Titov said.
